That's right... we hit 16 NCAAB totals in a row over 23 days (1/19-2/9)!! And it's no coincidence that they ALL WERE UNDERS. That's what our colege hoops totals experts do... isolate situations where teams are expected to have sub par offensive showings. The reason for the success is simple... the linesmakers ARE NOT factoring into their numbers what we know about these teams and WHY they're not going to score up to par. As you can see, IT'S WORKING!!!

As you can see, early on this NCAA Hoops season, our formulas were not producing. But the key is that they weren't burying us either, just a couple games below .500 as we waited patiently for the program to hit stride...

A few tough games today as we missed covering (3) games by a combined 4 points including pushing with Alabama. We did release Alabama as a pick (which would have been a loss instead of a push), but by the time our Game Day E-Mail went out, EVERY offshore book had moved the game to Creighton -1, and there were even some -1.5's out there (which means some clients won). This shouldn't have even been a discussion as the Tide had a 7 point HT lead which ballooned to 14 with 7:11 left in the game.... Also LI let us down as they fell just 3 points short of the cover and Detroit's comeback fell just 1 point shy of covering.

Time to move forward for the Mavs and put behind them their recent nightmare scheduling since the All Star break. Dallas played their 9th game in just 12 days at Golden State on Saturday where they got blown out 87-111 (We cashed in on this horrible spot for Dallas with a 2 Unit top rated Daily Report release on the Warriors). That game was also the Mavs 3rd road game in 3 nights and 5th in 6 overall. So to say the team had to have been exhausted is an understatement. So tonight, after having 2 full days to rest since returning home, we look for a rejuvenated Dallas team to be all business while cruising to an easy win.

Here's what we told everyone:
This is one of the cruelest scheduling spots for any team this season. Because of the condensed schedule due to the lock out, you're seeing teams playing way more basketball than the human body is designed for. This is the Mav's 9th game since coming back from the All Star break on 2/28 (12 days!) and also their 3rd game in 3 night's on the road. Also realize that during this tenacious stretch Dallas hasn't been home for more than one game at a time which means that they've had to pack their bags after all 9 games. Line-maker has adjusted making the Warriors (15-21) favored over the 23-19 Mavs, but it's not enough. Weary Mavs prime to be blown out on this the last leg of their long, brutal stretch.

Understanding The Swings
In order to be a successful sports bettor, first you must understand sports betting. Even though we've lost -33 Units since Super Bowl Sunday (2/5), we're still right where we should be over the last 11 Weeks (+25.45 units overall). When playing on a daily basis, there are going to be times when we're winning more than we should be and times when we're losing more than we should be. This type of fluctuation is 100% expected along the way to our winning bottom line. Remember, we're putting between 40 - 60 units per week in action and with that amount of volume, there are going to be swings.....

We can't control when the good runs are coming or when to expect the bad runs. We just keep putting our money in action with what we believe to be the best of it and the laws of averages work themselves out in the end. As long as we have an edge in each play we release, we can't help but to show profits in the end, just like the +26 Units the last 11 Weeks..

This is one of our favorite situations in the NBA... Teams returning home after long road trips. The Bulls have been away from the United Center since 1/28 playing 9 road games. That's a long time away from family, friends and business dealings. So upon their return, these young players have many people demanding attention (wives, children, etc) which often times becomes an unwanted distraction. We don't just automatically play against teams on their first game back, but add to this scenario the fact that on deck the Bulls will get a visit from Boston with Sunday's 4 point loss in Boston fresh on their minds. Back On Track After Slight Dip
We seemed invincible ther for awhile and then Friday night we dropped -7 Units in the NBA (0-3) including a 4 Unit Double Play loss on the Lakers. As if that wasn't bad enough we dropped ANOTHER -4.50 Units with 3 more losers on Saturday's early NCAAB! So in less than 18 hours we were 0-6 giving back -11.50 Units of the +55 Units we've made over the past 2 months. So with Saturday night's 4-1 (+4.90 Units), we're only -6.60 Units over the last 2 days. Plenty of hype surrounding the Giants during the 2 week waiting period. And rightfully so! It is usually the team that gets hot at the right time that wins the Super Bowl, and NY has done just that. The Giants are on a 5-0 SU & ATS run which started back on Christmas Eve beating the Jets (29-14) and culminated in San Francisco a month later (1/22) with the road win (20-17) over the slightly favored Niners. New York outscored their opponents by a total of 141-67 (28-13 avg) during their last 5 games.

OK, fine, so the Giants are red hot... SO WHAT?? The Patriots aren't? New England has won 10 straight (6-4 ATS) with their last loss coming at the hands of these Giants in Foxboro on 11/6. After that game the Giants went on to lose 4 straight by a combined score of 89-131 (22-33 avg.) including a beat down of the "mighty" NY defense by Drew Brees for 49 points (you have to figure the Pats coaching staff has worn out the Saints - Giants film by now!!).

When these teams met in the Super Bowl 4 years ago, the line you'll recall was NE -12... 9 points more than it is today. Sure, NY won the game outright and they are hot right now, but to be able to get the Patriots at this price (-2.5 on the point spread) creates huge value. We don't see the validity of the huge move. We figure the correct line here is NE -6 or -6.5. As for the total, it's about the same as last time. We feel the same result this time around with both defenses stepping up.

Also factor in the motivational aspect. This is a HUGE revenge game for the Patriots. Not only did they lose the Super Bowl to these Giants, but it ruined their bid for a perfect season, something that hasn't happened in 40 years and may never again. The Packers looked as if they were well on their way this year but ran into a buzz saw called the Giants.

Also remember, the Giants limped into the playoffs with a 9-7 record. New England cruised into the playoffs. The Giants are playing way over their heads right now. We look for Brady & Company to win today going away and covering the -12 number hung 4 years ago. We're playing the game on the ML (-145) simply for value purposes. If you lay the -2.5, you have to lay -125 anyway, so for just 20 cents more we get them at a pick. We also are putting a unit on the alternate line of NE -10.5 (+285), so with a blowout, we more than make up for the -145 lay. As it stands, we're risking a total of 5 Units with a possible upside of +6.05 Units. And if we don't win our Alternate Line play, we still stand to win +2.19 Units. -END

Are We Lucky Or Good...?? Read On...
Those who have been with us for awhile know exactly what we're talking about!! Close games that have their pointspread fate decided in the last minute of the game happen all the time. When you're on the wrong side we tend to call it a BAD BEAT, and when we're on the right side people seem to think we're just lucky. But realize this: About 50% of ALL games will have their pointspread decided by sheer luck (or bad luck depending which side you're on). It's the other 50% of the games... games that have a clear cut right side & wrong side... that will make or break a sports bettor. These are the games that we must hit in the 60% - 64% range because in the long run we're going to go 50% on the games going down to the wire. Our problem in early December you'll recall was our just HORRIBLE luck with the 50%ers... we must have lost over 80% of them!! When this happens there's nothing you can do but fight your way out!! So when we WIN 3 close games, think back to the times when we weren't quite so "lucky"!!

Here's what we told everyone...
Oh it's so easy to justify a Green Bay play here. The line is only -7.5, just a half point higher than the Packers were laying in New Jersey 6 weeks ago (You'll remember that the Giants nearly pulled out the road win losing 35-38). But the general public thinking is that a Green Bay play this time is giving you value because of that close call, and the fact that New York are winners of 4 of their last 5 including their Wildcard domination of Atlanta last week, beating their cross town rivals easily (29-14), and beating division rivals Dallas twice since 12/11. So what seems to happen in a situation like this is that the general consensus is to try and find a reason to discount all NY has going for them to pave the way for the player to bet on his darling Packers... the reigning Super Bowl champs who came very close to perfect regular season... An offense that can seemingly score at will putting up 40+ six times this season and 30+ five times. So to be able to get this "safe" position on such a reliable team looks like stealing on the surface. I mean out of the Packers 8 home games this season they were double digit chalk 6 times, with the 2 odd times being the first game of the season vs the Saints (-4.5) and the last game of the season vs the Lions (+6.5) due to resting starters with nothing to play for (and Green Bay still won 45-41 behind back-up QB Matt Flynn (31/44 480 yards & 6 TD's). "So are you kidding me...? I just gotta lay -7.5 with this offensive machine called the Packers...??" But before getting in line for that free money, understand a few things. First, can Green Bay destroy the Giants? Absolutely, of course they can. We've seen it too many times from Green Bay but realize that this is playoff football. Teams are 2 wins away from going to the Super Bowl, and defense wins championships. If there's ever been a team that fits that motto it's the Giants. Remember their unlikely Super Bowl win in the 2007-08 season. How'd they do it? By holding their four playoff opponents to a total of 65 points including Green Bay to 20 (23-20) and the high flying Patriots to just 14 in the Super Bowl (17-14). So instead of trying to create reasons as to why Green Bay is a safe bet, look at solid history behind a winning organization who wins the tough way... by stopping the other guy. -END
