Were sticking to our guns here. We released a series play on the Heat AFTER Miami went down 0-1 giving us a FAT adjusted series price of +240. Our position was clear and still is: Experience will prevail. Here's what we told everyone in our series release write-up:
Series Play: Miami +240 / Oklahoma City 2.00 Units
After losing game 1, the series price jumped from Miami +138 to Miami +240. A Heat win tonight would put them in the drivers seat heading home having taken home court advantage away from the Thunder. Even without winning game 2 outright, Miami would still be alive but the pressure would be on to sweep games game 3, 4 & 5 in South Beach. Although OKC seems to be the quicker team, we feel this is the Heat's year. Miami overcame a 2-3 series deficit with Boston after many counted them out. This Thunder team will be around for many years and will most likely win multiple championships this decade, but there's more to winning an NBA championship than just the play on the court. Miami has a full cast of players with not only ample playoff experience but also much experience in the NBA finals. OKC just played their first ever NBA Finals game Tuesday night. Experience will prevail...
Additional notes:
What's really sealing the deal for us on tonight's release is the Russell Westbrook post game 2 interview with the press, the part regarding his intentions on adjusting his game for game 3. As you know there's plenty of criticism on the young point guards decision making in the Thunder's game 2 loss saying he should be sharing the ball more and not be so concerned with scoring himself. Well his answer was swift, to the point and downright arrogant... "I'm not going to change a thing no matter what you people (the press) say". Sure, Westbrook's a great player with a bright future and all, but that statement just goes to his immaturity. To be a complete player and be ranked among the best to ever play the game as his talent suggests he has, you first must be willing to learn. Statements like his in that press conference are the seeds that sow bad karma. -END

Many have criticized our Unders releases over the past week or two, but please understand that to allow the results of past results (losses) dictate future releases would be irresponsible. Just because most of the NBA totals have been going over recently does not hurt our position tonight. If anything, it helps. Note that tonight's total opened Sunday morning at 192.5 and within 8 hours moved to 194. By this morning, most shops were dealing 196 and it appears within the last couple of hours sharp money has been coming in on the Under as 196's are slowly disappearing.
Both these teams have been shooting very well in their last two games. OKC 50% or better from the floor last three AND 56% from 3 point range in their close out game over SA. Meanwhile the Heat went for 50% over their last two games against Boston. When teams shoot like this, it always comes back down. It's the simple law of averages. Of course it doesn't mean it has to be tonight, but when we're getting the absolute best of it in the line courtesy of pubic perception, we'll take the free 4 points and make this a 4 Unit Double Play for us.
Additional note: Remember, defense wins championships, and this series is for all the marbles. So couple a turned up defensive game plan with an expected sub par shooting performance from both sides AND huge line value and this one has Under written all over it!! -END

In the words of the great George Burns "....Say goodnight Gracie..." Boston is finished. The Heat have proved to be the healthier, quicker and hungrier team in this series. Boston had a legit shot of stealing game 2 in South Beach but let it slip through their fingers. It will be very difficult mentally for this aging Celtics team to bounce back now that they're looking up at an 0-2 hill that shouldn't be there. We would have given Boston more of a shot tonight had they gotten blown out Wednesday. Don't let the fact that OKC took care of business at home in game 3 mislead you into thinking Boston can too. Remember, the Thunder are the younger team in the West. Miami was a -550 favorite before this series started for a reason. 3-0Heat after tonight. -END

Instead of trying to justify why the Thunder are going to cover tonight, try realizing that this Spurs team is special. As we told you in our write up of San Antonio (-200) for the series, "...This is a team that is playing perhaps the best basketball of any team ever..." We went on to say we weren't interested in laying points in game one citing that the line was certainly shaded a bit up due the their recent success but after watching the first game play out, it's evident to us that there is simply nothing the Thunder are going to be able to do to slow the Spurs down. San Antonio overcame a 9 point 4th quarter deficit and take a 9 point lead of their own and eventually win by 3. They didn't get the cover due to the OKC 3 pointer at the buzzer, but game two sets up nicely for us. The line is a full point lower and the kinks and rust from sitting for a week between their series with the Clippers is worked out. The Spurs scored 39 in the 4th quarter of game one! We look for the pace to pick up right where it left off Sunday with the game easily making it over the 202 as well as San Antonio notching it's 20th straight victory. -END

Although the Bulls have clinched the Central Conference, they still have much to play for. Both San Antonio and OKC are just 2 games behind them in the loss column for the best overall record. This becomes important should Chicago make it to the Finals. So after 2 days off, the Bulls tonight play the first of 4 in 5 nights which culminates in Miami on Thursday. Figure to see them looking to conserve energy during this tough scheduling spot as not to be drained by the time they hit South Beach. Also realize that the Bulls got along just fine without Rose in the line up for what's seemed like forever, and the 2 games he did play in since his return, Chicago had a tough time with: the 1 point OT loss on 4/8 in NY and the OT win at home 4/12 against the Heat in a game they really should have lost in regulation had it not been for LeBron missing 1 of 2 FT's with time running down (would have given Miami a 4 point lead) which set up the miracle game tying 3 by Butler off the bench as time ran out. And there was a game in between those two: at home against the Knicks on 4/10 without Rose in which Chicago cruised by 10. Not saying Bulls better off without Rose, but when a team gets used to life without a key player, they do so by changing and or tweaking the system. So when that player returns, the team has to get used to playing with him again. Rose will be playing tonight and we look for Chicago to be more interested in getting all the moving parts working together again than blowing out the Pistons. 9 is a hefty number to lay on the road. -END

Time to move forward for the Mavs and put behind them their recent nightmare scheduling since the All Star break. Dallas played their 9th game in just 12 days at Golden State on Saturday where they got blown out 87-111 (We cashed in on this horrible spot for Dallas with a 2 Unit top rated Daily Report release on the Warriors). That game was also the Mavs 3rd road game in 3 nights and 5th in 6 overall. So to say the team had to have been exhausted is an understatement. So tonight, after having 2 full days to rest since returning home, we look for a rejuvenated Dallas team to be all business while cruising to an easy win.

This is one of the cruelest scheduling spots for any team this season. Because of the condensed schedule due to the lock out, you're seeing teams playing way more basketball than the human body is designed for. This is the Mav's 9th game since coming back from the All Star break on 2/28 (12 days!) and also their 3rd game in 3 night's on the road. Also realize that during this tenacious stretch Dallas hasn't been home for more than one game at a time which means that they've had to pack their bags after all 9 games. Line-maker has adjusted making the Warriors (15-21) favored over the 23-19 Mavs, but it's not enough. Weary Mavs prime to be blown out on this the last leg of their long, brutal stretch.

This is one of our favorite situations in the NBA... Teams returning home after long road trips. The Bulls have been away from the United Center since 1/28 playing 9 road games. That's a long time away from family, friends and business dealings. So upon their return, these young players have many people demanding attention (wives, children, etc) which often times becomes an unwanted distraction. We don't just automatically play against teams on their first game back, but add to this scenario the fact that on deck the Bulls will get a visit from Boston with Sunday's 4 point loss in Boston fresh on their minds. Can't see Chicago coming with enough here to cover double digits considering all...
Denver -8.5 / Phoenix 9:05 ET 2.00 Units
Denver 109 Phoenix 92 Winner
Third road game in 4 nights for the Suns. Phoenix let one get away last night at Golden State after running all night with the young Warrior legs. The wind must be out of their sails here. And speaking of wind, it's not nice playing in the mile high altitude on the tail end of 3 in 4 on the road. Suns should be huffing and puffing by the fourth quarter giving way to a blowout... We also like the dip in the line to -8.5 in the last half hour. Everyone grabbing that "fat" +9. Let's see how fat that +9 is come the 4th quarter...

Longest road trip of the season for the Bulls started yesterday in South Beach with Chicago losing a tough one to the Heat by 4 points (93-97). Because of this seasons condensed schedule, Chicago is scheduled for 9 games in 15 days on the road including 4 in 5 between yesterday and Thursday. Wednesday Chicago goes to Philly and Thursday to MSG to face the Knicks. Can't see any reason to exert any excess energy tonight on the 4 win Wizards, especially given the minutes Bulls starters were used Sunday in Miami: Rose 44, Brewer 42 & Hamilton 36. -END

-END
